Part 8
by Nazarri

A very naked Heero and Duo stood looking down into Duo's open duffle bag. The decision had been made and Duo wasn't totally pleased about it.

"Do we have to Heero? It seems like such a waste of a perfectly good sex toy. I mean Hilde never used it, so it's brand new. I can think of a million things we can do with it. Please, can't we keep it?"

The hands that had killed countless people and blown up bases seemed to have an aversion to latex sex toys. Heero used a screwdriver to pick up the offensive item from out of the bag. "We're blowing it out into space."

Duo tried again as he followed Heero to the airlock. "But Heero! It could be lots of fun.

"No. Not until you have custody of Sky and Rain."

Duo understood that Heero only had his best interest in mind. He watched with disappointment as Heero blew Hilde's birthday present out into space.

"I want joint custody of my kids. I won't deprive them of their mother." Duo stated with heart-felt conviction. "No matter how much of a bitch she is toward me, Hilde still loves her kids. And they love her."

"You're too nice." Heero glared at Duo with his arms crossed over his chest.

"She's willing to throw you to the dogs."

"Yeah, I know." Duo sighed. "But this isn't about me. It's about Sky and Rain. I grew up without my parents. I don't want my kids to be deprived of either of us, if I can help it."

"I should kill her." Heero growled. "That bitch brought up your past in court."

Duo could see that Heero was getting really mad and trying to control the anger that was welling up inside of him. He wondered how Heero knew what had gone on it the court, but he was the Prince and General. Most likely any information that he wanted was at his fingertips, not to mention the use of his incredible computer skills. Even court transcripts would be accessible to someone of Heero's caliber. "Yeah, I know. I never thought that she would sink that low. There is no pity for a thief and child whore."

"Never call yourself that!" Heero tensed. "And I still might kill her." He thought to himself. No one treated his Duo that way. No one!

A sad smile crossed Duo's face. "Just never thought that it would come up as proof that I am an unfit parent."

Heero walked over to take Duo into his arms. "You are a wonderful Dad."

"I love my kids so much, but I'll never get a fair shake on L2. Street kids are considered a nuisance and the authorities there more than a little unsympathetic. I don't have a chance, not with my record."

"I already took care of that." Heero said in Duo's ear.

Duo quickly pulled back to look at Heero. "What? What have you done?"

Heero ginned ever so slightly. "Your case will be heard by the courts in Sanq."

"Why? Not that I am complaining."

"Because the palace is now your legal residence."

Duo stared at him for a moment before smothering Heero's face with kisses. "I love you so much, Heero. You are so good to me."

"There's no guarantee that this will work." Heero cautioned.

"Yeah, I know." Duo smiled warmly. "But it's better than L2. At least I HAVE a chance!"

Duo captured Heero's lips in an attempt to express his gratitude. Their two naked bodies pressed together from toe to nose. Waves of passion swept over them as they deepened their kiss. Heero's hand stroked the side of Duo's hip. But reluctantly, they pulled away from each other. It was almost time to land. They walked back to their belongings.

Heero reached back into Duo's bag and pulled out the scrapbook. "Now, why did Hilde throw this at you?"

Duo blushed furiously, "It's just my scrapbook. Every time I found something I liked, I would cut it out and put it in there. I tried to hide it in my workshop, but Hilde found it one day while snooping around."

It wasn't hard to see the special care that Duo used when putting the book together or why it pissed Hilde off. The entire scrapbook was of Heero. It contained pictures from press conferences and appearances from all over earth and space. The most obvious thing that Heero noticed was that Relena was cut out of every picture. Even the clipping from their wedding had Relena cut carefully out, leaving as much of Heero as possible.

With a smile, he placed it back in Duo's bag. "Get dressed. We're hitting the atmosphere soon."

Hilde slammed down the phone. "Damn him!!!!"

"What now?" Hilde's friend asked as she fed a bottle of formula to baby Sky. "The custody hearings have been shifted to Earth."

"What does that mean?"

Hilde picked up one of the dishes that she and Duo had received for a wedding gift, she threw it across the kitchen. The sound of the crash echoed throughout the small home.

Sky jerked and began to cry in his little baby carrier.

"It means that Heero is helping him. Who knows what other little schemes they have planned? I will lose my babies!"

"Maybe it's not as bad as you think."

"You're kidding, right?" Hilde hissed. "This is Heero Yuy and Duo Maxwell we are talking about. Back working together! They never lose! DAMN!" She walked over to her crying son and picked him up. She hummed gently as she held the small baby to her chest. "It's alright, Sweetheart. I'll never let your Daddy take you away from me. Never! He'll have to rip you from my cold dead hands!"
